Garden for a 1950s Architect Designed Detached Villa

The brief for this large front garden was simply to create something that was low maintenance. I started by creating a circular space and then within that a geometric design. Filling the borders with soft ornamental grasses and colourful flowering and wildlife friendly shrubs, allowed the garden to complement the angular features of this unusual 1950s architect designed villa.

Plants used in this design:

Astrantia
Continus coggygria ‘Grace’ | Imperata cylindrica ‘Red Baron’ | Stipa tenuissima | Lavatera x clementii ‘Barnsley Baby’

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL...

"Lisa designed a radical reworking of our front garden. This was a big design and Lisa spent a lot of time with us working out what we liked and didn’t like and how to account for that in the final design. We found her very receptive and she listened carefully to our views.

Dave (Dunn) was contracted to do the work and both he and Lisa met with us before everything was finally agreed. The design is very impressive and Dave and his team did a great job in creating it. Dave is a real pleasure to work with, delivers to a very high standard and is a gentleman as well. We are very pleased with the final result. There was one glitch in that the existing monoblock couldn’t be matched and we had to replace the drive with stone chips but in the event this suited the design much better. I would recommend both Lisa and Dave for garden design and implementation."
